LJ iz srs bznz
Interesting, I've been mirrored. A sockpuppet in (almost) my name has been set up to infiltrate a community I don't even read. If I thought it worth getting angry over, I'd be ranting pretty heavily but, as it is, they're mostly just giving my writing free advertising. Hey, dumbass, try actually plagiarizing somewhere that makes you money next time.

I think Vox is trying to see what we're writing there, and used your username because you're sort of known among us.

Vox, hunh? Somehow, I feel flattered. Hey, Vox, big kiss, asswipe! *smak*

Oh, and speaking of similarly-spelled usernames, this is the *other* atheistsnark. No underscore, meaning we bitch about trolls instead of Islamophobia, mostly.

Irony, thy name is Livejournal.

I contacted a friend who works for LJ abuse - would you kindly follow up on reporting this? I would like to see someone get hosed.

Here is what I was told:

Trolling, in and of itself, isn't an actionable violation; LJ relies on things like banning and closed communities and moderation to let people self-police that stuff. When people try to avoid those mechanisms, though, that's a problem; impersonation specifically is against the ToS and it's probable that that account (the impersonating one) will be suspended if the abuse team hears about it. If he's a repeat offender and it's possible to tie the account to him, something else might happen too, but there are too many variables to suggest what, if anything, it might be.

I'd suggest having the person whose account was copied file a report using the form here: http://www.livejournal.com/abuse/report.bml. Have him pick the first option (comment by or conflict with other user), then pick "Impersonation", then describe the issue with a few links. (The profile page seems relevant, and the copied entries.) The report should also include that you believe the impersonation was specifically used to avoid moderation mechanisms in your community and the username (or usernames) of the person you believe to have been involved. If you don't believe rogerdr is capable of including that stuff for whatever reason, file a request yourself explaining the situation, but impersonation requests generally carry more force coming from the person being impersonated.

Thanks, but I already filed.
