I have outdone myself in nerdism
Having recaptured my unhealthy love for Rubik's Cubes, which I wrote about in previous posts, I was unable to hold back when I found that V-Cubes (formerly Olympic Cubes) was accepting pre-orders for their 7x7x7 cube. It's shown on Youtube being solved here. Since it's a pre-order, I don't expect it to be shipped until September, so I'll have to make do with Gabbasoft until then. The thing costs near $75, which may seem ludicrous, but remember that there are so many more expensive obsessions that I don't have, and I only need one 7x7x7 cube to play with, after all.

That said, I'm eagerly awaiting the "ultimate" V-cube, 11x11x11. Gods, but I'm a hopeless nerd.

I like that you're a nerd :) In addition to bring addicted to scrapbooking, I have also recently taken up knitting, a favorite past time of seventy year olds. It's a different genre of nerdism, but I like knowing I'm not the only one.

At least you have sweaters or whatever to show for your hobby. If I spent as much time writing as I do farting around with this or coding or going out to the college bars or whatever else my restless brain gets me into, I'd have finished five novels by now. :/

nerddom
I really want to be a nerd...I mean like the 44 year old virgin D&D, MTG, WoW, playing nerd who works ONLY so they can GAME.....but i got laid a long time ago....and instead of a seventies gaming console or a Commodore 64 my Mom got me a MATH tutor (which did no good at all....How can you be a nerd and not know MATH?!)

Also, I seem to be one of those sensitive, creative, right brained people...which means I'm a FREAK....and that makes me much more interesting than I can ever hope to be in order to be....a nerd...but Roger, Your facination with Mathmatical Cubes, Formulas, Code, Stars, Black Holes,Science Fiction and Literature does not make you a nerd.....Most nerds do not have your incrediably high IQ....also you too are not stuck completely on that Linear Left side of the Brain...You are truly creative! IF I had to choose a friend who most reminded me of Doctor Who you would get my vote....and You could prolly ride an interesting story about how the Tardis* Functions and where it came from and who made it.....I love Doctor Who (slight nerd meter reading there)

*if you are not familar with Doctor Who The Tardis is his Pan-Dimensional time and space ship....

I neglect to keep current of live journal but I'm going to try to stop by more often.....drop me a line won't you....Roberto
